The mystery was compelling, but I figured out a chunk of it pretty early-hoping I was wrong, but I wasn’t. The fact that the bunch of students were all drama students who only perform Shakespeare was frosting on the cake. Give me a bunch of students tucked away at a boarding school or college, and I’m in. And I’m a sucker for stories in a setting like Dellecher. Starting the book with Oliver after he’s been in prison for 10 years was a great hook. I loved the way the story played out in two different timelines. I just couldn’t stay away long enough to wait for the next work commute. If you have a long road trip ahead, this would be a good one to bring along to keep you company. When the students did their Halloween scenes from Macbeth, Petkoff’s performance had me spellbound. The reader, Robert Petkoff, did a great job, and all the lines from Shakespeare work really well in audio format. I started this on audio, but I ended up needing to grab the book and tear through it.
